Musician and Educator

Maggie Oswald is a versatile educator and music director. She has served as Music Director for school districts in Maine, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. In addition to teaching, Maggie served on the executive board of NHMEA as Professional Development Chair. Maggie earned both her Bachelor's in Music Education and Performance and her Master's in Music Performance from Ithaca College. At Ithaca, she studied with Lee Goodhew, Leonard Hindell, Abe Weiss, Mark Fonder, and Steve Peterson. Her primary instrument is the bassoon, but Maggie also excels at saxophone and clarinet. She has performed and recorded with amateur and professional groups including the New Hampshire Symphony Orchestra, the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Montgomery County Concert Band, and various pit orchestras. Maggie is passionate about furthering music education. 

As a private teacher, Maggie's students have been accepted into top colleges for music, NAfME's All National Band, and various All State ensembles. She works with students to master technique, to apply theory and musicality for a deeper connection to music, and to create a solid foundation to become lifelong musicians and learners.

Maggie teaches private woodwind lessons, specializing in bassoon and saxophone, and tutors in music theory to students of all ages in Montgomery and Bucks County. Maggie is also a skilled bassoon reed maker. Please use the contact page for further information.
